saying about us
It's been a year since I was injured at work, had surgery on my heel and was non-weight bearing for 3 months. Jay and everyone at FBPT got me back on my feet and back to 100% quicker than any doctors thought possible. Can't thank FBPT enough! Steven...
Furnace Brook Physical Therapy created a structured rehab program for those post-concussion patients that might require more supervised, and extended medical management. Though most concussions will get better with rest and won’t require any other treatment, research highlights the need for proper rehabilitation to treat and prevent the more limiting complications from post-concussion syndrome. A team approach that includes the patient, parent (when applicable), physician, and physical therapist is necessary to best manage recovery. A physical therapist is able to evaluate and treat many of the problems related to concussion. A customized physical therapy treatment program is established for each individual patient that may address symptoms of imbalance, dizziness, fatigue, weakness, and neck pain. Athletes will need to be gradually progressed through a graded exercise program before they return to play. The focus of physical therapy is to provide education, decrease symptoms, and restore normal function.
