Jay Bernasconi, DPT, OCS-owner of Furnace Brook Physical Therapy, is proud to announce the addition of a Biodex Pro 4 isokinetic machine to the list of equipment in the clinic. In addition to the on-site pool, and the suspended gym floor, the Biodex Pro 4 gives the therapists a versatile unit to efficiently resolve strength and Range of Motion issues for a number of joints. With the ability to work the shoulder, knee, hip, elbow and ankle, the Biodex Pro 4 can simulate high and low speed strength training, active assisted motion, passive motion, isotonic and multi-angle isometric resistance.
Says the owner, “Though the ultimate goal for discharge involves a patient’s ability to perform functional activities, you have to walk before you run. The Biodex Pro 4, like the KinCom unit the clinic had in the past, gives our therapists another tool to effectively meet the patient’s short term goals of motion and strength which are necessary for function.” Our patients have access to the best rehab equipment found in the training rooms of Pro and College Sports teams. Due to the adaptability of the unit, all age groups can work on the Biodex Pro 4.
